Glenn, Jessica and Stella came over for dinner on the 2nd, to kick off the holiday weekend, and Jessica caught some cute pix of the kids. Stella played to the camera a bit more - she's a few months older than Joshua - she knows what to do.

Taste of Chicago

This year's taste of Chicago started very early Sunday morning with Jared running a 5K, Race to Taste. Monica and Jon Rhodes and Monica and Adam Futrell were all in town. Bob Ozelie also joined in for the early morning run, though he couldn't stay for all the eating. What's the point of running if you can't eat afterwards. The race was done by 9am, but booths don't open till 11, so we found a nice shady spot to rest and hang out. I'll tell you that's the way to do it - get there early to find a spot in the shade, that way the crowds and the heat don't get to you!

Strawberry Festival 2009

In Long Grove this weekend, they had the strawbery festival, which is really more an excuse to get people to visit Historic Long Grove, because we had to SEARCH for Strawberries to eat. they didn't even have any activities with strawberries. You'd think something along the lines of a watermelon seed spitting contest, but nothing!
