Taste of Chicago

From Taste of Chicago

This year's taste of Chicago started very early Sunday morning with Jared running a 5K, Race to Taste. Monica and Jon Rhodes and Monica and Adam Futrell were all in town. Bob Ozelie also joined in for the early morning run, though he couldn't stay for all the eating. What's the point of running if you can't eat afterwards. The race was done by 9am, but booths don't open till 11, so we found a nice shady spot to rest and hang out. I'll tell you that's the way to do it - get there early to find a spot in the shade, that way the crowds and the heat don't get to you!

Strawberry Festival 2009

In Long Grove this weekend, they had the strawbery festival, which is really more an excuse to get people to visit Historic Long Grove, because we had to SEARCH for Strawberries to eat. they didn't even have any activities with strawberries. You'd think something along the lines of a watermelon seed spitting contest, but nothing!

A day of Firsts

Today was a very exciting day. First, we had a visit with Sara, Andrew, and Aiden, in from Ohio. Joshua had his first playdate with his friend Aiden, who's 4 months old. It's amazing to see how much bigger Joshua will be in a couple of months.

Here is a picture of them making nice:

Then we had our first outing starting with the pediatrician's appointment. Joshua has regained all of his weight and then some since we left the hospital, weighing in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces, which allows us to not have to revisit the doctor until he's one month old! Over-acheiver our son is already becoming. Our first outing continued on to Target, and Jimmy Johns for lunch. Joshua slept the whole time, he was a very good boy. We came home and Mommy and Joshua took a nap while Daddy did some work. Finally later tonight we gave Joshua his first bath, well it was more of a sponge bath - no submersion, but baby is all clean now! check out the video and pix below. Thanks for reading!

Go Hoosiers!

you know we are IU Hoosier fans when the first outfit we put our son in, is a hoosiers onesie. It's a bit big but at least he'll be able to wear it for a while
