Beginning, Middle, End...of the Day that is.

Josh "holding" Caitlyn before school...notice who is dressed first.  It is always a challenge getting him dressed in the morning...

...partly because he dawdles and wants pictures of the "babies".  His "froggy" baby and my real one. 

After school on this beautiful day, we went to the zoo because Mrs. Weinstein told us to.  They just finished the zoo animal lessons and it was a beautiful spring day, complete with the wind.

I asked Josh what animals he wanted to see, Lions and Tigers were first.

Then we checked out the dolphins.  I don't know how I didn't know you could just go see the dolphins, and didn't have to see a show.  This is the underwater viewing.  They must be able to see people back through the window because they often swam right up to the window if someone was there, and didn't if no one was there.  Perhaps they came this time because Josh was waving to them!

Josh has quite a lot more vegetables to eat to "grow bigger"

He also wanted to see the bears, he specifically asked for the polar bears.  I'm not sure if they talked about them in school, or he remembered the last time we were there.  Either way, it was on the completely opposite side of the zoo from the dolphins...that's fine for me...i have a new stroller to try out!

River Trails Nature Center

We checked out the River Trails Nature Center this morning...there were all kinds of animals to check out as well as some wonderful places to play.  I liked this place much better than the one in Park Ridge we went to, and no that's not because it didn't smell like dead animals.  This was much more geared towards kids.  Even if the staff kept asking Josh not to jump and stomp in the Eagles Nest.

I tired to capture the play room, but there's still more stuff behind me that we never checked out.  We'll be going again.  The fishing pond on the back left, the puzzle table on the front left, the Fox Den with Eagles Nest above in the center, and the puppet show on the right were all big hits.  Josh is at the top of the stairs showing  off.

Today

Josh wanted Caitlyn to color with him, not sure she wanted to though!

Josh got to feed Caitlyn for the first time tonight.

Winter Wonderland

We finally got the snow I think we were all waiting for.

Luckily the roads were quiet clear by the time we got out that morning...our road is a side road and one of the last cleared.  I love how the trees look with all the snow on them.

We visited the children's museum again...

...with a new mom's group.  Played in his favorite exhibits, Cars, water, Potbelly, trains...I'm actually surprised he didn't want to visit the music exhibit today but he did spend some time on the newer solar energy exhibit.  Here are a couple of pictures of him painting the house.

This was also Caitlyn's first trip to the museum...she must not have been interested...she slept the whole time!

Golfing at the Library

what a cute idea; they used pvc piping to create the barrier, and fake grass.  someone even commented that Josh was holding the club the right way, as opposed to how most toddlers would hold it.

I'm glad these cool dudes* are enjoying each other's company better these days...vs. a few months ago...

We got a new camera just before Caitlyn was born, primarily because we lost our old one.  Which Josh had managed to break the focus...needless to say, he won't be touching this camera.  It has some pretty cool features that we are just starting to explore, but first a few pictures of the princess.

I'm still trying to figure out how to capture pictures that look just like her...each one is a little off, but that just means we'll keep trying.

EAGLES

Josh found some temporary tattoos in his quiet time box yesterday (because I had thought they were stickers) and asked me to put them on him.  Jared was quite proud Josh was sporting the EAGLES!

They only lasted a few hours...he wanted me to take them off at bath time.
