Happy Hanukkah!

Josh helping me make cookies. We enjoyed the tradtional latkes, too!

SNOW!

We welcomed the first snowfall of 2010/2011 appropriately. Snowball fight,

snow angels,

and basketball of course.

Josh is using a lot more words and doesn't know that you don't normally play basetball in the snow! He asked for ball so we had to bring the hoop out. All in all we only spent about 15 minutes outside. Followed of course by some hot chocolate.

Thanksgiving

With the Texas Silvers in town for Thanksgiving, we bucked our Black Friday shopping tradition (sort of)** and checked out the Wonderland Express at the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

Josh checking out the Gingerbread house village

The Chicago river and buildings - all made out of wood and other natural materials.

**we still took advantage of one deal each at Staples and Kohls. but that was it - no getting up at 5am to buy the newest electronics this year~

Trick or Treat

Madden's parents down the street invited us to go trick or treating. Madden went as a bear and Josh as a puppy.

Josh has perfected his CHEEEESE face
walking up to the first house

mmmmm....we let the boys have one candy after the first house so the understood the point of trick or treating
the neighborhood boys checking out each other's loot
Having a taste! I think he likes it. even though he only had two pieces today, and dinner in between he was still a little like a pin ball this evening.
Josh enjoyed that I pulled the chair up to the window so he could watch the kids walk by

Playdate at Kiera's

q-tip painting at Kiera's house. Kiera's mom Teresa works with me and Kiera was born about 5 months before Josh, but we finally got a chance to get the kids together to play. They had this cute art project ready to go, but all the kids wanted to do was run around the house chasing each other!
