Apple Picking

At the recommendation of some friends, we traveled to Blue Jay Orchards in Bethel, for our annual apple picking.  It was 88 degrees so not exactly fall like, but the kids did enjoy picking apples right off the tree.

It was a beautiful day

The leaves are just starting to change, so hopefully next Sunday will be mild and beautiful and we can drive around and see some gorgeous fall foliage

Because of the harsh winter we had, not as many blossoms grew, to grow in to apples.  Most farms limited apple picking to the weekends, and they even pre-picked apples and had them in carts.
These Fuji apples are a clear favorite

we came home with two $20 bags of apples, and filled the sink half way up.  We'll be making some apple pies and cakes and muffins and cookies this week.  Maybe some apple juice and apple sauce!

And of course, because it is a farm, there must be a tractor...

Josh is playing soccer again

Josh is playing soccer through the town of Greenwich.  Excuse the blurriness, I had some setting switched off that I couldn't figure out.
