Kickball

The Buffalo Grove Park District had a fun free event and my favorite part was watching Josh play kickball.  I think he figured out it was a combination of soccer and baseball, two games we often play!

I drove to Indy for a friend's baby shower, and got to stay at my friend Mandy's house.  I hadn't seen her since before I was pregnant with Cailtyn, so it was wonderful to catch up and check out their newly finished basement.

Before I left I caught this pic of her oldest daughter Kayla, with Caitlyn.  I'm sorry I didn't get one of her other daughter Maren too.

My Gym

A friend of ours suggested we check this place out...I had been sure it would have been just like Gymboree, but it was so much better.  I think the instructor was a big reason why.  He had SO MUCH energy.

 I think my favorite part was the zip line for kids.  I mean they basically throw the kids across it!

our iceberg and romaine lettuce which was over-plentiful a few weeks ago.  We think the rabbits have discovered it and are having quiet the feast!

Likewise for the strawberries.  Though we didn't even have any strawberries last year, we think the animals are getting to the red strawberries before we have a chance to pick them.

Perhaps because he has so much energy, I'm kind of a sucker for cute pictures while Josh is sleeping.  Here, he fell asleep in the loveseat in our room.

Happy Father's Day

We got to sleep in this morning, both kids slept till about 8am!  Then, Jared got to work with his power tools and replace some screens in our gazebo, getting it ready to enjoy this summer.  We also taught Josh how to say gazebo, which is quiet cute.  Then we had my parents and brother and his fiancee over for dinner...mmm grilling on Father's Day!

doors added to the bookcases.  Even though the baskets are out in the picture, things are  MUCH more organized

We bought some Billy bookcases from IKEA to help solve the ever growing collection of toys.  We also took out the pack n play for Caitlyn (moved her changing area to the bathroom), and claimed our black leather storage ottoman back for our closet.  I think the addition of the bookcases makes the room visually feel bigger, but with the removal of those pieces of furniture, there really is more room to play too.
