Pilot Pete's

I had heard of Pilot Pete's way back last January, but it took until I saw a Groupon (which I accidentally purchased twice!*) to check the place out.  Aidan and his mom Sara joined us for lunch.  It's at the Schaumburg Regional Airport, so you can see small airplanes landing...and even an occasional Metra or freight train go past.  An ideal spot for lunch, after pre-school's transportation lesson plan in the morning.  I had no idea my timing could be so good!

instead of chairs in the waiting area, they have seats taken out of old air planes...Josh was very interested in  the tray tables that fold out of the arms.

Since it's at the airport, you could almost see the airplanes up close in the hangar.

what Josh-Aidan play date would be complete without some train table time!
*Since the groupon doesn't expire until July, we'll have to take Dad back to check it out in the summer...hopefully we'll be able to see the planes more up close.
